H. Daniel Smith, M.A., LPC-A, NCC

Licensed Professional Counselor Associate

Supervised by Tracy Williams, M.A., LPC-S

Healing does not mean forgetting. It means the memory no longer owns you, shame has lost its vote, and fear no longer decides what your day can hold. I have seen that freedom take root in the counseling room, and I have known it in my own life. I believe it is possible for you.

Maybe that feels far away right now. You may be carrying a grief that has not lifted, an anxiety that never lets up, a fear that keeps you small, or a lie about yourself that has quietly hardened into fact. My first commitment is a space safe enough to be honest, where together we can search for the truth of who you are. So much of healing comes back to identity: naming the lies we learned from others or told ourselves, challenging the traps of fear, and breaking out of the bondages of shame. You set the pace and the direction.

I work primarily with individuals, and I also see couples and families. Sometimes the wounds we carry alone show themselves most clearly in our closest relationships, and those relationships can become the very place where healing happens, together. I have walked with clients through anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, addiction, trauma, and grief, with particular care for those in their golden years, when physical pain and emotional weight so often arrive together.

I am a United States Army veteran and a mental health officer in the Texas State Guard, so I hold a special heart for veterans, first responders, and the families who serve alongside them. I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, with undergraduate training in Christian counseling. For clients who wish it, I gladly integrate Christian faith into our work. Those who do not are just as welcome.

I have been married for 17 years and am a proud father of three sons with seven grandchildren. I have walked my own road of healing. If you are ready to begin yours, reach out. I would be honored to walk beside you through the painful times and onto the brighter days ahead. You do not have to do it alone.
