Lisa Shoemaker, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I have a passion for helping others through the lows and highs that life entails! I offer you a safe space where you are heard and a therapeutic relationship where we work together to address your biggest concern.

I utilize an integrative approach to treatment including client-centered, strengths-based, solution focused, and mindfulness-based practices.

I obtained a Bachelor of Social Work from Lamar University and a Master of Social Work from The University of Texas at Arlington. I have served individuals in a variety of different settings from children with behavioral challenges in a school setting, women and children seeking refuge in a domestic violence shelter, the foster care system, nursing facility residents, and individuals/families walking through the end-of-life journey. I have experience with children/families battling medical complexities and the stresses and complications that accompany chronic conditions.

SPECIALTIES:

  • Children and parents that are having issues with behavioral challenges at home or in school

  • Medically complex children and parents

  • Individuals that are navigating their end-of-life journey

  • Grief in children and adults

  • Anxiety or depression in children or adults

If this sounds like what you are facing, I would love to work with you!

I enjoy spending time with my husband and two sons. We can be found spending time outdoors, either hiking, camping, or spending time at the beach. I have a passion for advocating for individuals in the rare disease community. I enjoy challenging myself by running marathons while raising awareness for individuals and community organizations in the rare disease space.

I provide individual and family therapy in the evenings at the Port Neches office and on Saturdays at the Beaumont location.

I look forward to meeting you!
