Shelby Ibarra, LPC Associate

Licensed Professional Counselor Associate

Supervised by Tracy Williams, M.A., LPC-S

I believe every child deserves a safe place to be heard, understood, and reminded of the strengths they already possess. What excites me most about working in private practice is having the opportunity to slow down, meet children exactly where they are, and build meaningful relationships that create lasting change for both children and their families.

Working in a Southeast Texas public school district has given me a unique understanding of the emotional, behavioral, and social challenges children and adolescents face each day. I enjoy helping children and teens navigate anxiety, emotional regulation, peer relationships, life transitions, and the everyday pressures that can affect both school and home life. I also believe meaningful progress happens when parents feel informed, supported, and equipped with practical tools to help their children thrive.

My counseling style is warm, patient, and collaborative. I strive to create an encouraging environment where children feel safe to express themselves, build confidence, develop healthy coping skills, and discover the resilience they already have within them. My hope is that every child and family who walks through my door leaves feeling more understood, more connected, and more confident in their ability to move forward together.

Before becoming a counselor, I worked as an art educator and have served students and families in Southeast Texas schools since 2014. I later transitioned into school counseling and now serve as a mental health counselor within a Southeast Texas public school district. I hold master's degrees in Educational Administration and School Counseling and became a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in January 2026.
